Boston Estate Planning Council Welcomes New President, Officers and Board Members

Expanding Community Engagement, Education and Diversity

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – June 28, 2018 – The Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC), a multi-disciplinary community of over 700 estate and wealth planning professionals, announced today its new President, Officers, and Board for the 2018-19 year, effective July 1, 2018. The additions ensure broad leadership representation from across the estate planning industry, enabling BEPC to continue to deliver the highest quality of service to its members and advance public knowledge of the concept and benefits of estate planning. BEPC Appoints Long-time Leader Joshua Miller as President and New Officers

As part of BEPC’s seamless leadership transition, Joshua Miller, previously BEPC’s president-elect, moves into the role of president. Laura Barooshian becomes BEPC’s past president and will continue to serve on the BEPC Board. A prominent Managing Director and Senior Wealth Strategist at CIBC Private Wealth Management, Miller has been an active member of BEPC for over 13 years, served on numerous committees, and has been a Board Officer for the past five years.
“I am truly honored to serve as the 88th President of the Boston Estate Planning Council,” said Joshua Miller, president of BEPC. “On behalf of my fellow officers and the board, we thank Laura Barooshian for her leadership, vision and tireless efforts to position BEPC for future success. BEPC is well positioned to move forward energetically on our educational programs, networking events, and diversity initiatives.”

BEPC also appointed its Officers for the 2018-2019 term. The Board elected Rice, Heard & Bigelow, Inc. Director Sarah M. Allen, JD, LLM, as the new President-Elect; Pabian & Russell, LLC Partner Steven M. Carr, Esq. LLM, AEP, as Treasurer; and Lourie & Cutler P.C. Partner Kelly Aylward, Esq., LLM, as Secretary.

Council Welcomes Four New Board Members to the BEPC Board of Directors

We welcome our new board members and officers and anticipate that their contributions to both the industry and within BEPC will be substantial

As part of the council’s continued focus on industry leadership, BEPC’s Board of Directors Nomination Committee presented candidates and unanimously elected four Full Members to join the Board.

The new BEPC Board Members, who join the existing Board of Directors, are:

Elliot Rotstein, CAP, Management Planning, Inc.

David G. Strachan, Jr., CTFA, Cambridge Trust Company

Debra Whitney, CFP, Ballentine Partners, LLC
