New AI-powered capability provides real-time access to claim status information and concise claim summaries, helping employers improve efficiency and better support employees

NEWARK, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU) has launched Claims Insight Assistant (CIA), a new AI-powered capability designed to help employers more easily understand and track disability and absence claims.
Available through Prudential’s Benefit Center Employer Portal, Claims Insight Assistant generates concise claim summaries that highlight claim status, recent activity, and next steps, helping employers and benefits administrators respond to employee questions with greater speed and confidence. By transforming complex claim information into clear, easy-to-understand insights, the capability helps simplify claim management and may improve the customer experience.
“Supporting employees through a disability or leave of absence often requires employers to navigate significant amounts of claim information,” said Jess Gillespie, Prudential’s head of Group Insurance Product & Underwriting. “Claims Insight Assistant uses AI to quickly surface and organize relevant claim details, helping employers get answers faster, spend less time searching through details, and focus more on supporting employees in critical moments.”
Claims Insight Assistant reviews information already contained within Prudential’s claims systems and generates a summary of an individual claim with a single click. The tool does not make claim decisions, determine eligibility, or approve or deny claims (summaries include only claim information employers are already permitted to view). Instead, it helps employers more efficiently navigate available claim information, understand claim activity, and swiftly determine next steps.
“Across Prudential, we’re focused on applying AI in ways that solve real customer challenges and create better experiences,” said Michael Estep, president of Prudential Group Insurance. “Claims Insight Assistant is a great example of how we’re putting artificial intelligence to work in practical, responsible ways that help deliver better experiences for our customers.”
Claims Insight Assistant is now available to all Group Insurance customers with access to disability and absence claims on the Benefit Center. Read more about how Prudential is using AI to better serve its customers.
