Ten Signator Financial Firms Combine to Form 'Collective Financial Group'

Move allows firms to maintain independence while creating scale

BOSTON, Sept. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Signator Investors, Inc., John Hancock’s dual registered broker dealer/investment advisor, announced that ten of its independent firms in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska have joined together to form a regional financial services organization called Collective Financial Group (CFG).

Through the deal, the firms will centralize new business processing, training and compliance supervision and provide advisors more opportunity to collaborate, share best practices and ultimately better serve clients.

“Though the creation of CFG, our firms and advisors will have the scale necessary for access to more resources, knowledge, experience and talent while at the same time each firm will be able to continue operating with its own identity,” said Tim Strellner, owner, Strellner Agency Group and newly appointed principal, Collective Financial Group. “This will help each firm in CFG bring more value to our clients. Collectively, we are better together”

In addition to Strellner’s firm, located in Cedar Rapids, IA, members of CFG include:

  • Advanced Financial Consultants (Rochester, MN)
  • Financial Decisions Group (Waterloo, IA)
  • Carlson Financial Group (North Platte, NE)
  • Larry Dawson & Associates (Webster City, IA)
  • Financial Decisions Group LLC (Des Moines, IA)
  • Mark Thompson & Associates (Davenport, IA)
  • Core Financial (Fort Collins, CO)
  • Horizon Financial Resources (Guthrie Center, IA) and
  • Indy Performance Group (Pendleton, IN).
