Senator James T. Welch to Speak at MAHU

Will address the Massachusetts chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters during Annual Membership Meeting on June 13th

MILFORD, MA: The Massachusetts Association of Health Underwriters (MassAHU) represents over 1,000 health insurance agents, brokers and advisors statewide will hold its Annual Membership Meeting June 13th at its home office at 91 Cedar Street in Milford, MA. The annual meeting will run from 8:30 am – 11:00 am.

“MassAHU delivers extraordinary value to our members and the employers that they represent each and every day. The Association promotes and protects the role of the broker as strategic advisor, advocates for sensible legislation, provides professional development, and perhaps most importantly, serves as a voice from the trenches on behalf of our clients.” said MassAHU’s president David A. Shore. “Staying informed and influencing health insurance/care policy is paramount and brokers are busier than ever in this critical stakeholder role.”

Guest speaker, Senator James T. Welch, Chair of the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing, will address members following brief board business and the election of the 2014-2016 proposed board of directors.

Recently MassAHU achieved, for the second year in a row, the Platinum Chapter Certification. This extraordinary achievement has been accomplished by only six other chapters nationally and is part of the National Association of Health Underwriters’ (NAHU) Chapter Certification Program, which is an ongoing program that recognizes excelling chapters throughout the calendar year.

“The leadership of NAHU members has a far-reaching impact on providing for the healthcare needs of individuals, families and business in their communities. We are grateful for MassAHU’s hard work with chapter development and recognize them for their efforts with this well-deserved award,” said NAHU CEO Janet Trautwein. The National Association of Health Underwriters represents 100,000 professional health insurance agents and brokers who provide insurance for millions of Americans.
