Northwestern Mutual honors leading women influencers by sponsoring Forbes Women’s Summit
Milwaukee, WI, May 7, 2014 – Northwestern Mutual will serve as a presenting sponsor of the 2nd Annual Forbes Women’s Summit: Power Redefined, The Entrepreneurship of Everything, on May 15 in New York City. The two-day invitation-only event will bring together a diverse and multi-generational group of more than 250 female leaders, including CEOs, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, innovators, disruptors, educators and others, to discuss ideas, find solutions for some of the problems the world is facing and take action.

Excellence in Entrepreneurship
On May 15, Eisenhart is presenting the Northwestern Mutual Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship which honors a woman who excels in entrepreneurship through a body of work, passion, and vision around the cause of empowering women. In addition to entrepreneurship, the Forbes Women’s Summit will explore topics around philanthropy, innovation, leadership, technology, health, education, and global politics and policy.
Sandy Botcher, vice president of disability insurance at Northwestern Mutual, will be honoring and introducing the work of Liz Scott, co-executive director of the pediatric cancer nonprofit, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). Northwestern Mutual has partnered with ALSF to fight childhood cancer by raising funds for research. Since 2012, the Northwestern Mutual Childhood Cancer Program has supported more than 2,500 children and families and funded more than 26,000 research hours toward life-saving cures.
Scott will discuss the creation of ALSF in 2000 inspired by her entrepreneurial daughter, Alexandra Flynn “Alex” Scott who held yearly lemonade stands in her front yard to benefit childhood cancer research while she was fighting the disease.
