William O’Neil and Scott Bakley Join Voys's Advanced Planning Program

Voya Financial announced today that its retail wealth management firm, Voya Financial Advisors, Inc. (VFA), has hired William O’Neil as Manager of Financial Planning for Retirement Services and Scott Bakley as a Financial Planner for Retirement Services. O’Neil and Bakley will join VFA to help advisors deliver financial planning to their clients, effective Oct. 1, 2018.

In his position, O’Neil is responsible for partnering with advisors and sales managers to provide coaching and accountability on financial planning services and sales strategies. In addition, he will be charged with promoting the team’s retirement readiness strategy across the Voya enterprise. Joining Voya from Santander Investments, O’Neil brings extensive industry knowledge and more than 20 years of experience with specialties in financial planning and sales. He is based in Braintree, Massachusetts and reports to Andre Robinson, vice president, Advisory Solutions for VFA.

Bakley joins Voya with roughly 20 years of experience in retirement income planning. Most recently, he held the position of Internal Wholesaler at Principal Financial Group. In his role at Voya he will responsible for completing and delivering financial plans on behalf of VFA’s financial advisors. In addition, he will work with VFA financial advisors and their clients to provide financial planning education and strategic direction for support in retirement services and planning. He is based in Voya’s Des Moines, Iowa office and reports to O’Neil.
