Kari Karsnick Joins Allianz as Director of Business Unit Controls Office

To focus on compliance & regulatory requirements

March 11, 2016 — MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) hired Kari Karsnick as the director of business unit controls office in the Operations division.

In her role, Karsnick leads a team of business unit risk management and compliance consultants ensuring division processes comply with regulatory requirements. She also is responsible for evaluating Operations’ risks and mitigation activities. Karsnick reports to the Vice President of Policyholder Services, Lee Peterson.

Prior to joining Allianz Life, Karsnick worked with Ameriprise Financial in Minneapolis for more than eight years. Most recently, she was a senior manager in the Risk & Control area where she led the development of internal audit data analytics. She also managed multiple projects for cross-functional teams to reduce redundancies and analyze audits. Before Ameriprise, Karsnick worked in the Audit area at KPMG, LLP in Minneapolis.

Karsnick has a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. She is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
