Managing Partner of Appel Insurance Advisors recognized by Hancock
BOSTON, MA, (March 11, 2013) —David E. Appel, CLU, ChFC, AEP®, managing partner at Appel Insurance Advisors, LLC, (AIA), was recently recognized as one of the top ten financial professionals nationwide by John Hancock Financial Network (JHFN). Based in Newton, MA, AIA is an independent insurance advisory firm that aligns with JHFN as a distribution partner providing access to their life insurance products. JHFN is one of many distribution partners AIA aligns with to ensure access to a wide breadth of insurance protection products to meet clients’ various needs.
As a recipient of the JHFN Achieving Client Excellence award, Appel joins nine other top representatives to lead a JHFN advisory group, the President’s Roundtable, which meets with company executives and other leaders to look at ways to improve client service levels.

Appel’s record of service to clients is also reflected in the recognition received from several professional organizations. He is a seventeen-year qualifying and life member of the International Million-Dollar Round Table (MDRT), with consecutive Top-of-the-Table qualifications and eight Court-of-the-Table qualifications. He is a recipient of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) National Quality Award, and the Vincent C. Bowhers Service Award. In addition, he was highlighted in NAIFA’s national publication, Advisor Today, in July 2004 in an article entitled “Four under Forty” portraying four top advisors and community leaders in the United States under the age of 40.
Appel also believes in giving back to his profession. He was the 2005/2006 President of NAIFA Boston, and served on the NAIFA- Massachusetts State Board. He is a sixteen-year member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and has served on their Board. Additionally, he is one of a few Licensed Insurance Advisors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Appel is also a popular speaker at life insurance industry meetings internationally and throughout the United States.
Active in his community, Appel is an Executive Officer and National Commissioner for the Anti-Defamation League of New England. He is a past board member of the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston and sits on the Board of Governors for CJP. He is past president of the Acorn Foundation, and past president of the Greater Boston Syracuse University Alumni Club.
