New model led by three industry veterans sets the stage for growth in Care Solutions product suite
INDIANAPOLIS – (Dec. 5, 2016) OneAmerica® today announced a new leadership structure and expanded distribution channels to drive growth in its Care Solutions product suite. Tracey Edgar, Vice President, National Accounts will lead the brokerage channel; Joe Hayes, Vice President, National Accounts will lead the wirehouse channel; and Michelle Prather, Vice President, National Accounts will lead the bank channel.
The move from two existing channels to three is part of a broad strategy to keep pace with growing demand for the Care Solutions unique long-term care (LTC) protection offerings. And the leadership team comprising three industry veterans sets the stage to hire even more talent in this area.
“Expanding from two channels to three and placing at the helm a team of high-caliber, proven industry leaders will widen and deepen our relationships in the LTC space,” said Pat Foley, President, OneAmerica Individual Life and Financial Services. “This team will focus exclusively on delivering excellent support and education for our trusted financial professionals in each channel, providing the resources they need to help create strong solutions for even more customers.”

When it comes to getting more educational resources and more solutions in the hands of consumers, our foot is on the gas, and we’re not slowing down.”
About the team
- Tracey Edgar, RN, BSN, CLTC, is a national speaker on the topic, “The Long Term Care Crisis in America.” She is certified in long-term care and has more than 17 years of experience helping brokerage general agencies with strategic direction, planning and marketing. Her professional history includes Critical Care nursing and nine years of military service. Edgar is a registered nurse in the state of Michigan, is certified in LTC and holds a life and health license. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Valley State University and is currently enrolled at Harvard Business School in The Behavioral Management Executive Certification program.
- Joe Hayes, CFP®, has worked in the insurance industry since 1990. He has achieved success in a variety of sales and sales management positions throughout his twenty-six-year career and has traveled nationwide conducting seminars and workshops on the topic of asset-based long-term care for financial professionals and clients. Hayes is a graduate of Ball State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He obtained his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 1998.
- Michelle Prather has spent her entire career in the financial services industry. She joined OneAmerica as part of the Care Solutions team in 1998 and now has more than 18 years of experience educating financial professionals about the Care Solutions product suite. She often serves as a keynote speaker for conferences throughout the country, conducts numerous client workshops, and trains financial professionals in the art of having the LTC conversation.
