Industry’s first flat-fee IOVA
Louisville, KY—May 9, 2016—Jefferson National, a market leader in tax-advantaged investing for RIAs and fee-based advisors, continues to enhance its fund lineup within Monument Advisor, the industry’s first[i] Flat-Fee[ii] Investment-Only Variable Annuity (IOVA).
Monument Advisor adds six new investment options, including three new alternatives. Jefferson National’s Monument Advisor offers nearly 380 investment options, including more than 70 alternatives—the industry’s most underlying funds[iii] and the most liquid alternatives[iv] utilizing strategies like those favored by hedge funds and elite institutional investors.
“In today’s challenging market where every basis point counts, a growing number of advisors are using alternative investments to help hedge against volatility and build more resilient client portfolios—and they understand the benefits of using the power of tax deferral to help clients optimize these strategies,” said Laurence Greenberg, President of Jefferson National. “With the industry’s most underlying funds, and more liquid alternatives than any other Investment-Only VA, Jefferson National’s Monument Advisor is the leading tax-advantaged investing solution designed to meet the needs of more RIAs and fee-based advisors.”
Diversified sources of return
In response to advisor demand and challenging market conditions, Jefferson National’s latest additions include three new funds in the alternative category: Janus Aspen Global Unconstrained Bond Portfolio, Columbia Strategic Income Fund, and Permal Alternative Select VIT Portfolio.
Advisors are demanding diversified sources of return to protect clients from an increasingly volatile market environment. These new additions allow advisors to take advantage of fixed income returns across sectors and around the world with the Janus and Columbia funds, as well as a broad mix of alternative strategies thoughtfully assembled in the Permal fund.
anaged by recognized financial manager and author Bill Gross, the Janus Aspen Global Unconstrained Bond Portfolio invests broadly across global fixed income markets and is not constrained by benchmark-specific guidelines. Columbia Strategic Income Fund seeks total return consisting of current income and capital appreciation. Permal Alternative Select VIT Portfolio, a liquid alternative, provides diversification across alternative styles: equity hedge, event driven, global macro and relative value.
With its ability to capture diverse income sources, and a distinct emphasis on risk management, PIMCO Income Fund delivers consistent monthly dividends throughout changing market conditions, targeting a high and consistent level of income. Advisor demand for this strategy has been strong, as evidenced by growing in-flows of PIMCO Income on the retail side, where it has surpassed all other PIMCO retail strategies.
The Fidelity Freedom Income Fund provides a retirement income portfolio option. By investing in a combination of Fidelity funds, including domestic equity, international equity and bond, this fund seeks high total current income and capital appreciation. The Invesco Core Plus bond provides an active intermediate-term bond strategy, which is actively managed and seeks to deliver income, growth potential and protection during times of market volatility.
