Massey Quick launches Women’s Network to focus on attitudes about saving, investing & lifestyle

MORRISTOWN, N.J., Jan. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Massey Quick, a wealth management and investment consulting firm based in Morristown, N.J., announces the launch of the Massey Quick Women’s Network to facilitate discussions with women on topics such as their attitudes towards making financial decisions, saving, investing, and maintaining their lifestyles.

The Network’s inaugural event kicked off with a keynote address from Eleanor Blayney, CFP Board Consumer Advocate, and long-time champion of women reaching their financial goals.

“The Women’s Network is really a result of our female clients wanting a place where they could speak openly about their financial future and concerns,” said Lorraine Salvo, at Massey Quick. “It should be no surprise that over the years we have found that women have completely different attitudes towards money. But many are nervous or uncertain about what steps to take or questions to ask. It’s our sincere hope that this group provides an environment of transparency and support.”

Talking about money

The demand for financial resources focused on women continues to grow. According to a recent study by Fidelity Investments®, women are eager for information about financial planning and investing. The study found that 92 percent of women want to learn more about financial planning. Yet a majority of women hold back when it comes to talking about money; eight in 10 women confess they have refrained from discussing their finances with those they are close to.

The event’s keynote speaker Eleanor Blayney addressed the group of more than 50 women and lamented that that the time is now to have these critical conversations and not hold back. “Women relate very differently to money than men do,” lamented Blayney. “It’s in a woman’s nature to nurture their family and loved ones. Those motivators result in completely different financial results for women. Women must be vocal about their goals if they want to make their financial dreams a reality.”
