BRYN MAWR, PA – April 22, 2014 – The Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification today announces its support for the new FSCP™ (Financial Services Certified Professional™) program offered by The American College of Financial Services.

“FSCP™ is the most robust training program available for new financial advisors and for experienced advisors who want to learn more about specific skills and products. We are proud to announce that through an arrangement with The American College, CLTC designees may now earn partial credit toward the FSCP™ designation,” stated Harley Gordon, creator of the CLTC mark. “We see this as a benefit for all organizations desiring to achieve the very best of professional training for their advisors and field representatives. We are extremely honored to have our mark earn credit toward a credential from The American College.”

Elevate your professional

“We also see this opportunity as an important way for CLTC graduates to further elevate their professionalism through the FSCP™ program,” stated Jack Hondros, Senior Vice President for the American College. “The CLTC course of study is highly regarded for those specializing in long-term care planning. Combined with the added education and training offered through the FSCP™ courses, advisors will be able to serve consumers even more effectively. Increasing the level of professionalism among advisors is our key goal as more companies and organizations adopt these programs.”

The new Financial Services Certified Professional™ (FSCP™) was introduced in 2014 by The American College and is designed to provide the skills and product knowledge needed to be successful in today’s financial services environment. To complete the course curriculum, a student must take 10 educational units from a menu of various courses and modules, complete an ethics course, and take a multi-week live webinar practicum course and designation exam. Today’s announcement allows those attaining the Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC) designation to transfer 2 educational units toward the FSCP™ program.

The Certified in Long-Term Care, (CLTC) designation was founded by attorney Harley Gordon and a team of professionals in the field of aging who understood the consequences not having a plan would have on every retirement. The program is universally recognized by carriers in the business of providing long-term care solutions, as well as financial services firms who understand how not having a plan will disrupt every attempt to create a sense of financial viability moving into the future.
