Annual Fund Drive at BEPC Holiday Reception

WAKEFIELD, MASS. – Dec. 24, 2014 — The Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC), an association of over 800 estate and wealth planning professionals in the greater Boston community, has donated more than $2,200 to the Toys for Tots Foundation, which provides toys to children who might otherwise not receive holiday gifts. The funds were supplied by the 175 attendees at the organization’s annual members’ Holiday Reception, held on December 11 at the Hyatt Regency Boston. The event featured raffles of local goods and services that had been donated, with proceeds earmarked for the charity.
“Once again, BEPC and our members are glad to support the wonderful Toys For Tots program, which brightens so many children’s holidays,” said Deirdre Prescott of Sandy Cove Advisors, President of BEPC. “We hope it will become a holiday tradition for our members to give back to the community in this special way.”
Toys for Tots started in 1947 in Los Angeles as an effort by a small group of U.S. Marine Corps reservists. Today, it is active across the United States, and the program has been designated an official mission of the Marine Corps Reserve. There is even a collection box for donated toys in the White House.
